Amazon Flex Shifts – How Does It Work?

Here are the different Amazon Flex blocks assigned to delivery drivers:
1. Amazon Fresh
The first Amazon Flex block type is Amazon Fresh order. How does this Amazon delivery service work? Here, delivery drivers pick up groceries and other household items from their assigned Amazon delivery centre and drop them at customers’ doorstep.
Delivery drivers have a minimum 3-6 hours block shift in Amazon Fresh. However, the work time for Instant Amazon Fresh delivery is only 20-45 minutes. The grocery delivery time can also take 2 hours due to the unavailability of drivers.
2. Amazon Packages
Amazon might also ask you for package deliveries during your scheduled shift. You must visit the assigned Amazon warehouse or delivery station to pick up the order.
The Amazon product delivery service works like Amazon Fresh blocks. You must work for at least 3-6 hours here until you complete all the allocated package deliveries.
3. Amazon Logistics & Amazon Prime Now
Does Amazon select you for product delivery? You will either deliver packages either for Amazon Logistics or Amazon Prime Now. It might take 2 or more days to deliver the Amazon Logistic packages. However, delivery drivers must drop the Amazon Prime package within 2 hours or less.
Benefits of Amazon Flex PT and Flext RT:
Amazon offers flex employees two types of work schedules – part-time and reduced time. These two schedules have different working hours. For instance, the minimum working hours required for Flex PT is 20 hours a month. However, employees choosing Flex RT must work 30 hours a week.
The maximum working hours on Flex PT and Flex RT is 60 hours a week. What are the benefits of these two Amazon Flex schemes? You will only get a 401k plan and employee assistance program via Flex PT.
On the other hand, Flex RT covers medical, dental, EAP and 401k benefits. Moreover, employees with the Flex RT plan will get 1.15 vacations after every 14 working days.

You can work for two consecutive days or even on weekends with part-time shifts. However, Amazon’s full-time employees must work 4 hours per day in sortation centres. The company assigns employees one of their shifts at night on either Sunday or Monday.
What is the Break Schedule at Amazon?
